Macro Friendly Starbucks Shaken Espresso

I love cold coffee in the summer and it gets a gold star from me if you can make it Macro friendly!



Shaken espresso is one of my favs in the summer but sweetened oat milk and brown sugar syrup can throw you off your macros quick with all that extra sugar. I subbed out regular oat milk for a less sweet version that saves about 12g sugar per cup. I prefer oat milk bc it’s a little thicker than almond milk.

Brew your espresso. I like two shots but whatever size you want just adjust the milk to your liking! More milk = less strong! I use the Breville espresso machine.


What you need:

Ice

2 shots espresso (hot)

1c less sweet oat milk (I used Plant Folk)


Place ice in large size of your shaker cup. Brew espresso then pour over ice in shaker. Place small shaker cup on top (it slides in) and shake vigorously.



Pour into glass. Pour about one cup of oat milk into small size of shaker, add syrup and froth with your hand held frother. Pour over espresso and ice and enjoy!
